Green DOT Transportation Solutions was contracted by the Calaveras Council of Governments to develop the 2025 Calaveras County Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). This comprehensive planning effort followed the 2024 Regional Transportation Plan Guidelines and positioned Calaveras County to pursue competitive funding opportunities for regional transportation improvements.
Green DOT's specialized expertise in GIS analysis, technical and demographic data review, policy development, and comprehensive project planning resulted in a robust and comprehensive RTP update. Our approach included public outreach to ensure that we addressed the unique transportation challenges and opportunities within the Calaveras County region.
The final RTP organized proposed projects into two distinct implementation timeframes: short-term initiatives spanning 0-10 years and long-term projects extending 11-20 years. Projects were aligned with anticipated funding sources and their corresponding financial allocations, which created a blueprint for implementation that maximized available resources and ensured planned projects become reality.
Community engagement was essential to the planning process. The team conducted extensive outreach and rigorous stakeholder involvement to ensure that diverse community perspectives were incorporated into the final plan. This collaborative approach guaranteed that the completed RTP accurately reflected the transportation needs, priorities, and desires of the Calaveras County communities. The completed Regional Transportation Plan was adopted in January 2026.
