2020 Alpine Regional Transportation Plan

Alpine County Local Transportation Commission

Green DOT Transportation Solutions entered into a contract with the Alpine County Department of Community Development, assuming the role of Transportation Manager. This partnership paved the way for the preparation of the 2020 Alpine County Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) update to address the pressing transportation needs in the region, amounting to over $138 million in the short term. Over a span of 10 months, Green DOT rebuilt the regional project list from the ground up. A thorough examination of historical project records revealed that many entries were outdated and, in some instances, lacked clear identification. Consequently, a concerted effort was made to revamp the list, enhancing its usability. The refined project catalog now boasts concise descriptors, updated cost estimates, and comprehensive insights into the origins of each project. This meticulous approach to project documentation ensured that the RTP accurately reflected the evolving transportation landscape of the region. To guarantee the plan's relevance and adherence to contemporary standards, the RTP development process followed the 2017 RTP guidelines for California's Regional Transportation Planning Agencies. Furthermore, our efforts aligned seamlessly with the demand modeling requirements stipulated by SB 743 VMT metrics.
